Emaar Properties is the developer that built modern Dubai. Founded in 1997 by Mohamed Alabbar with a mandate to develop the UAE’s real estate sector, Emaar’s first major project - Downtown Dubai - became one of the most ambitious urban developments in history. The Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall, and the Dubai Fountain are Emaar’s legacy. They did not just build buildings - they built a destination.

Known for delivery, quality, and resale liquidity, Emaar properties carry a persistent premium in the resale market. Buyers and investors pay for the brand, the management quality, and the certainty that comes with a developer that has a 25-year track record of completing what they started.

Their masterplan communities demonstrate long-term thinking: Dubai Hills Estate with its golf course and Central Park, Creek Harbour with its waterfront promenade and future Creek Tower, Emaar Beachfront with its private beach access - each is a self-contained ecosystem, not just a collection of towers.

Post-2008, Emaar went through a difficult period alongside the rest of the Dubai market. But they emerged stronger and more disciplined: better escrow management, more conservative launch schedules, and a resale market that held up better than most competitors. Today Emaar is one of the most valuable property companies in the region, listed on the Dubai Financial Market.

If you want to buy something you can sell easily - in any market condition - Emaar is the benchmark. Their resale market is deep, their tenant demand is consistent, and their quality floor is reliably above the market average.

My default recommendation for first-time Dubai investors: start with Emaar in a master-planned community. You buy certainty along with the property.
